How to save a webpage as a PDF in Chrome on desktop

1. Open the webpage in Chrome and wait for its text and images to finish loading.
2. Open the three-dot menu in the top-right corner and choose Print. You can also press Ctrl+P on Windows or Command+P on a Mac.
3. Open the Destination menu and select Save as PDF.
4. Choose portrait or landscape orientation, paper size and margins. Open More settings if you want to include background graphics.
5. Select Save, choose a folder and give the PDF a useful filename.

Check the preview before you save. If a cookie banner or sticky header covers text, close it on the page and open Print again. On pages that load images as you scroll, scroll to the bottom first.

How to save a webpage as a PDF in Safari on Mac

1. Open the page in Safari and let it load completely.
2. Choose File, then Print from the menu bar, or press Command+P.
3. Review the page preview and adjust orientation, scale or paper size if needed.
4. Open the PDF menu at the bottom of the print window and choose Save as PDF.
5. Add a filename, select a location and choose Save.

Safari follows a site's print stylesheet, which can drop navigation and background artwork. Reader mode gives a cleaner article, but it strips most of the design.

1. Open the page in Edge and wait until all visible content has loaded.
2. Select the three-dot menu and choose Print, or press Ctrl+P.
3. Choose Save as PDF under Printer.

5. Select Save and choose the destination folder.

Edge is built on Chromium like Chrome, so the controls match. The preview can still follow a site's print rules instead of the screen layout.

1. Open the webpage and scroll through it once so deferred images can load.
2. Open the application menu and choose Print, or use Ctrl+P or Command+P.
3. Select Save to PDF as the destination.
4. Choose the paper size, orientation, scale and whether to print backgrounds.
5. Select Save, name the file and pick a folder.

Firefox has its own print engine, so page breaks can differ from Chrome and Safari. If a layout breaks, try another browser.

How to save a webpage as a PDF on iPhone and iPad

1. Open the page in Safari and tap the Share button.
2. Choose Print from the share sheet.
3. On the print preview, spread two fingers apart on the page thumbnail to open it as a PDF.
4. Tap Share again, then choose Save to Files.
5. Select an iCloud Drive or On My iPhone folder and tap Save.

Menu placement varies by phone maker and Android version. If Print isn't in the first menu, look under Share. Other Chromium browsers on Android use the same print service.

Why Print to PDF often cuts content off

Print to PDF doesn't copy what's on your screen. It reformats the page for paper. Many sites ship a print stylesheet that moves columns, drops navigation and changes text sizes. Page breaks can cut through a table or an image. Background colours and images are often switched off to save ink.

Sticky headers repeat on every sheet or cover the first lines. Images that load as you scroll can go missing because they never came into view. Very wide layouts get shrunk until the text is hard to read.

Save a webpage as PDF without opening it

You don't have to visit a public page first. Copy the address, paste it into the urltopdf.org webpage converter and press Convert. A browser on our server loads the page and sends the PDF back. That helps on a phone, or when all you have is a link from an email or message.

Common problems

Login-only pages

We can't reach a private dashboard, bank account or webmail, because they depend on your signed-in browser. Use your browser's own Print to PDF for those.

Paywalls

We only capture what our browser can see, so a paywall or a two-factor step stops us.

Very long pages

Long pages with lots of images take longer. Close pop-ups, let the page settle and try again. If it still fails, look for a print view or save the page in sections.

Blocked pages

Some sites turn away automated browsers or restrict access by location. If a public link won't convert, open it in your own browser and print from there.
