Who we are
urltopdf.org is a free web tool that turns public webpages, and HTML you paste in, into PDF files. It is run by Vertuvel LLP, a limited liability partnership registered in England and Wales (number OC453788), with its registered office at No.2 The Grange, Altrincham Road, Wilmslow, SK9 5ND. Vertuvel LLP is responsible for your personal data as described in this policy. You can contact us at fraser.richardson@vertuvel.co.uk.
What we collect and why
We collect the minimum we need to run the service.
- IP address and date. We store your IP address with the date and a count of your conversions so we can apply the free limit of 3 PDFs a day. We delete these records after 90 days.
- The URL or HTML you submit. We send it to our rendering provider to make your PDF. We don't store or log it, and we don't keep the PDF.
- Account details (Pro and Developer plans). Your email address, subscription status, API key details and the number of conversions your account makes, which we use to apply fair use. We don't use your email address for marketing.
- Anonymous technical records. Error logs (the type of failure, timing and plan type) and counts of clicks on partner promotions (which promotion, which page and when). These never contain your IP address, the URL or HTML you submit, or any account details.
- Your country. To choose which partner promotions to show, the site reads the country of your connection. We don't store it.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics and Ahrefs Analytics to see how the site is used: pages viewed, device and browser type, approximate location, where visitors came from, and whether a conversion started, finished or failed. We don't send the address of the page you convert or the HTML you paste. Google Analytics sets cookies. Our hosting platform may also collect basic usage statistics. You can block analytics with your browser settings or an extension.
Who else handles your data
- Browserless.io renders webpages and HTML and makes the PDFs. The URL or HTML you submit is sent to their servers, which are in the United States.
- Supabase hosts our database and sign-in. Our data is stored in Ireland (EU).
- Stripe processes Pro and Developer subscription payments. We never see or store your card details.
- Google provides Google Analytics and Ahrefs provides Ahrefs Analytics, as described above. Google may process data outside the UK.
- Lovable hosts our website.
Where data leaves the UK, we rely on the safeguards these providers offer.
Cookies and similar storage
Essential: cookies and browser storage that keep rate limiting working, keep you signed in if you have an account, and remember that you dismissed the cookie notice. Not essential: Google Analytics cookies, described above.
How long we keep data
- Daily limit records (IP address, date, count): 90 days.
- Submitted URLs, pasted HTML and PDFs: not kept.
- Account data: while your account exists, and deleted on request. We keep payment records for as long as accounting rules require.
- Anonymous error logs and promotion click counts:kept, because they contain nothing that identifies you.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to how we use it. Email fraser.richardson@vertuvel.co.uk. If you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The effective date at the top shows the latest version.
